Well last Saturday was our hometown's Christmas parade and Christmas in the Park celebration. It was the second time we have participated. Last year it was bitterly cold; this year it was warm and rainy. But that didn't slow Hudson down one bit! We stationed ourselves at the very beginning of the parade, just down the street from our house, and enjoyed watching the floats go by. Hudson really enjoyed the candy, although he didn't like actually getting it himself - he was too afraid of the cars, which is fine by us! So Rob had to run out in the middle of the street with all the other little kids, and pick up the fallen candy. Haha! Hudson had a blast waving at everyone going by and screaming, "Hi! Hi!" And his favorite part was the horses at the end. After the parade, we drove out to the local park and had Hudson's picture taken with Santa. It was so nice of Santa to take time out of his busy Christmas schedule to visit with us here at home! Hudson was not intimidated in the slightest to see Santa, and went right up to him and sat on his lap. What a brave little guy! And when Santa asked him what he wanted for Christmas, Hudson said, "Go Dawgs!!" Haha, Mommy is so proud! So Santa asked, "Oh so you watch football?" and Hudson answered, "Yeah! Football! And Cars! Choo-choo!" Funny little guy. He smiled so big for his picture, and then gave Santa a really sweet wave and a loud, "Bye bye!!"
Then we walked around to all the different vendors' booths, ate some chili, talked with neighbors, and listened to some live music. All in the rain. Grrrrr. Oh, and Hudson saw someone dressed up as a huge planet earth and got very excited. He couldn't wait for the huge character to get close to us. He was waving frantically and saying, "Hi! Hi! Hi!" And we thought he would be like his daddy and be afraid of large, dressed up characters! When the large globe-headed man came over to us, Hudson tried to hug him! But he settled for a high five and knuckles instead. Haha, so we're really excited about going to Disney in February - Hudson is going to love seeing Minnie and Mickey Mouse!
